European market report (2017-05-23)

European Stock markets took a breath on Tuesday’s trading session finishing in the green zoon, the markets were given some support after the Eurozone economic activity stayed at six-year high.

Moreover, the British stock market took a shock after the news that came about a suicide bomb at an Arina Grand concert in Manchester, this terrorist attack is considered the worst attack over a decade.



The FTSE 100 declined by 0.2 percent to close at 7,496.34. The index fell after the shocking suicide bomb in Manchester which killed over 22 people many of them were children and 59 were addition due to this terrorist attack the general election campaigning has been suspended.

Today’s session’s had 57 losers and 43 gainers.

The session’s best performers on the FTSE 100 were Babcock International Group rising by 2.97%, easyJet plc adding 2.52% and ConvaTec Group PLC gaining 2.42% to settle at 312.93.

The session’s worst performers on the FTSE 100 were, Kingfisher PLC  falling by 2.42%, Shire PLC dropping 113.5 points and WPP PLC shading 2.16% ending at 312.65.



Supported by the gains in the Utilities, Retail and Software sectors, German Stock market ended Tuesday’s session higher by 0.68 percent to close at 12659.15

Today’s gainers outnumbered losers the by 18 to 12.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA which rose 3.88% or 0.287 points to trade at 7.675 at the close. Meanwhile, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. added 2.57% or 0.590 points to end at 23.525 and Bayer AG NA was up 1.24% or 1.45 points to 118.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE which fell 0.95% or 0.33 points to trade at 34.49 at the close. Merck KGaA declined 0.94% or 1.00 points to end at 105.50 and Daimler AG NA O.N. was down 0.81% or 0.550 points to 67.190.


French equities ended in the green on today’s trading session, CAC 40 gain 0.47 percent closing at 5,348.16

The raise was led by Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors with 27 gainers and 12 losers.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Nokia Oyj which rose 5.75% or 0.317 points to trade at 5.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Vivendi SA added 1.81% or 0.34 points to end at 19.39 and Credit Agricole SA was up 1.77% or 0.255 points to 14.625 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE which fell 0.90% or 2.10 points to trade at 230.30 at the close. Renault SA declined 0.76% or 0.66 points to end at 85.80 and TechnipFMC PLC was down 0.58% or 0.17 points to 28.43.
