European stocks were weaker on Thursday as investors were keeping an eye on the Fed monetary policy decision, as well as BOE and Swiss national bank. Moreover, oil prices are under pressure due to oversupply.
As the losses generated by basic Materials, Consumer Cyclical and Utilities, UK equities were lower on Thursday, where FTSE 100 declined by 0.74% to close at 7419.36.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE100 were Ashtead Group PLC, which rose 1.46% to trade at 1587.00 at the close. Meanwhile, HSBC Holdings PLC added 0.88% to end at 686.1 and Royal Bank of Schotland group PLC was up 0.64% at 250.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresnillo PLC, which fell 7.26% to trade at 1592.62 at the close. Persimmon PLC declined 6.73% to end at 2261.94 and Next PLC was down 6.14% at 4032.19.
Losers stocks outnumbered gainers on the London Stock Exchange by 1566 to 414 and 392 ended unchanged.
Due to the losses generated by Basic Resources, Telecoms and Technology sectors, Germany’s equities were weaker on Thursday, where DAX rose by 0.89% to close at 12691.81.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG, which rose 0.84% to trade at 94.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. added 0.45% to end at 9.342 and Bayer AG NA was up 0.12% at 121.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na, which fell 2.38% points to trade at 16.395 at the close. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. declined 2.33% to end at 23.315 and Adidas AG was down 2.22% at 173.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 503 to 216 and 23 ended unchanged.
Due to the losses generated by Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors, France equities were weaker on Thursday, where CAC 40 fell by 0.50% to close at 5216.88.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA, which rose 1.49% to trade at 20.14 at the close. Meanwhile Sanofi SA added 0.73% to end at 75.48 and Engie SA was up 0.65% at 13.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA, which fell 2.85% to trade at 18.045 at the close. Airbus Group SE declined 2.46% to end at 73.28 and Cap Gemini SA was down 1.84% at 90.64.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 401 to 203 and 86 ended unchanged.
