Markets in Europe closed higher on Friday as the creditor of Greece confirmed to provide the country by the next tranche of 86 billion Euro, however officers put off this decision until August, 2018. Moreover, the stocks of some super markets were weaker after Amazon.com reported that it’s scooping up Whole Foods Market Inc. by almost $14 billion deals.
As the gains generated by Technology, Industrials and Energy sectors, UK equities were higher on Friday, where FTSE 100 rose by 0.60% to close at 7463.54.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE100 were St. James's Place PLC, which rose 4.22% to trade at 1192.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Mondi PLC added 4.13% to end at 2023.01 and DCC PLC was up 3.67% at 7463.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tesco PLC, which fell 4.92% to trade at 178.74 at the close. J Sainsbury PLC declined 3.85% to end at 265.39 and Anglo American PLC was down 2.79% at 967.3.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1279 to 667 and 448 ended unchanged.
Due to the gains generated by Technology, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors, Germany’s equities were higher on Friday, where DAX rose by 0.48% to close at 12752.73.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N., which rose 2.44% to trade at 19.770 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. added 1.95% to end at 20.160 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na was up 1.80% to 16.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG, which fell 0.91% to trade at 124.55 at the close. Linde AG O.N. declined 0.90% to end at 175.25 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. was down 0.79% to 15.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 431 to 303 and 28 ended unchanged.
Due to the gains generated by Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors, France equities were weaker on Friday, where CAC 40 fell by 0.89% to close at 5263.31.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA, which rose 3.02% to trade at 80.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE added 2.25% to end at 74.93 and Air Liquide SA was up 2.19% to 109.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA, which fell 3.22% to trade at 22.55 at the close. TechnipFMC PLC declined 1.17% to end at 24.40 and Veolia Environnement VE SA was down 1.08% to 19.240.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 384 to 218 and 92 ended unchanged.
