On Friday, European stocks were lower the Germany’s business activities reached the lowest level since four years. Overall, Food & Beverage sector in Europe was the worst performers among the other sectors, where after the bank of Berenberg in UK lowered its outlook for the stock to hold from buy, UK’s Dominos stock decreased by more than 2%. ITV was the beast performer after Morgan Stanley raised the recommendation of ITV’s stock to overweight.
Moreover, according to France and Germany’s PMI data, Germany’s PMI decreased to 56.1 in June while it was 57.4 in May, also Germany’s manufacturing and services sector reached the lowest level since four months in June. France’s PMI came lower than expected, where it fell to 55.3in June from 56.9 in the previous month. PMI of Eurozone declined from 56.8 in May to 55.7 in June.
UK equities were weaker on Friday due to the losses generated by, Healthcare, Consumer non-cyclical and Energy sectors, where FTSE100 fell by 0.20% at 7424.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered the falling ones by 50 to 45, while 6 shares remained flat.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE100 were ITV PLC which rose 3.34% to trade at 180.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC added 2.89% to end at 1600.86 and Ashtead Group PLC was up 2.47% to 4601.227 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Smurfit Kappa Group PLC which fell 2.48% to trade at 2370.11 at the close. Shire PLC declined 2.32% to end at 4554.52 and Mediclinic International PLC was down 2.26% to 756.03.
Germany’s equity were weaker as the losses generated by Utilities, Basic Materials and Healthcare, where DAX30 declined by 0.47% at 12733.41.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 24 to 6.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG , which rose 0.68% to trade at 18.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE added 0.56% to end at 35.60 and Infineon Technologies AG was up 0.28% to 19.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG, which fell 2.88% to trade at 19.70 at the close. E.ON SE declined 1.35% to end at 80.91 and Linde AG was down 1.18% to 171.15.
French equities were lower as the losses generated by HealthCare, energy and Consumer Non-Cyclicals, where CAC40 declined by 0.30% at 5266.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 27 to 13.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA, which rose 0.94% to trade at 13.915 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail Rodamco SE added 0.91% to end at 232.85 and Airbus SE was up 0.88% points to 75.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Valeo SA, which fell 1.48% to trade at 61.10 at the close. Peugeot SA declined 1.38% to end at 18.165 and Renault SA was down 1.05% to 80.40.
