European equities closed lower on Friday as most of UK’s banks stopped trading on Qatari Riyals due to the diplomatic crisis in gulf area. However Earlier session, investors were optimistic a head of the confident for hike interest rate in upcoming months.
The governor of BOE said on Wednesday, no need to hike the interest rate and the monetary stimulus will be removed, hinted for the possibility to increase the interest rate later on.
• FTSE 100
UK’s equities were weaker on Friday due to the losses generated by Energy, Utilities and Financials sectors, where FTSE100 declined by 0.51% at 7312.72.
Today’s losers outnumbered the gainers on the FTSE 100 with 50 losers, 47 gainers and 4 shares remain flat.
The best performers on the FTSE 100 were, Mondi PLC rising by 1.62 percent, Smurfit Kappa Group PLC gaining 36 points and Royal Mail PLC ending 1.53 percent higher at 418.42.
The worst performers on the FTSE 100 were, United Utilities Group PLC falling by 3.45 percent, Next PLC losing 120 points and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, ending 2.25 percent lower at 249.68.
German equity market fell during today’s trading session led by the relatively large losses in HealthCare, Telecommunications services and Basic Materials as its stock market index the DAX 30 fell by 0.73 percent to settle lower at 12,325.12.
Today most of the shares in the DAX 30 settled lower with 17 losers, 13 gainers and no flat shares.
The best performers on the DAX 30 were, Adidas AG rising by 2.07 percent, Infineon Technologies AG gaining 0.13 points and Deutsche Lufthansa AG ending 0.66 percent lower at 19.93.
The worst performers on the DAX 30 were, Bayer AG falling by 4.15 percent, Deutsche Bank AG losing 0.30 points and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG ending 1.74 percent lower at 81.28.
Moreover, the French stock market were weaker today with losses in Financials, Energy and Utilities leading the decline pushing its stock market index the CAC40 to close 0.65 percent lower at 5120.68.
Today most of the shares in the CAC40 settled lower with 31 losers, 9 gainers and no flat shares.
The best performers on the CAC 40 were, Atos SE rising by 1.53 percent, ArcelorMittal SA dropping 0.205 points and Valeo SA ending 0.82 percent in the red at 58.99.
The worst performers on the CAC 40 were, Societe Generale SA falling by 2.91 percent, Credit Agricole SA losing 0.22 points and BNP Paribas SA ending 1.42 percent lower at 63060.
