European equities markets traded in positive territories on Monday, as tech stock were amongst the top gainers in the session, also supporting markets was upbeat economic data from Germany in May, Total export saw an increase of 14.1% compared to previous year figure, exports in May rose by 1.4% to 107.9 billion euros. Meanwhile, Imports also rose by 1.2% to hit record highs of 87.6 billion euros.
Over in Hamburg, G-20 meeting was concluded in this past weekend, various global issues were discussed such as trade, defense, and climate change.
Furthermore, during the meeting, Republican president Dollar Trump and Russian Vladimir Putin discussed many issues amongst which was establishing an” an impenetrable cyber-security unit”.
• FTSE 100
UK’s equities ended Monday’s session higher after Gains in Basic Materials, Financials, Telecommunications Services & Industrials sectors led equity prices higher. The Kingdom’s main benchmark FTSE 100 rose by 0.26% to last trade at 7370.03.
Today’s gainers outnumbered the losers on the FTSE 100 with 60 gainers, 38 losers and 3 shares remained flat.
The best performers on the FTSE 100 are Schroders PLC who rose by 2.15% to end at 3,196.19, while BAE Systems PLC gained 2.02% to settle at 621.24 and BHP Billiton PLC ending 1.69% higher to last trade at 1,235.95.
The worst performers on the FTSE 100 are, Shire PLC that fell by 3.19% to trade at 4,208.75, meanwhile, Next PLC lost 1.94% or 73 points to last trade at 3,761.66 and Provident Financial PLC ending 1.77% lower at 2,329.44.
German equities market ended the slightly higher after data showed an improvement in total exports in May, Equities also found support from gains in the Utilities, Consumer Non-Cyclicals, Technology & Telecommunications Services sectors. German benchmark DAX 30 rose by 0.46% to settle higher at 12,445.92.
Today most of the shares in the German benchmark settled higher with 22 gainers, 8 losers and 0 shares were left unchanged.
The best performers on the DAX 30 are, E.ON SE surged 2.22%, followed by Linde AG who gained 2.02% and Continental AG ending slightly higher by 1.43%.
The worst performers on the DAX 30 are Prosiebensat 1 Media SE that fell by 0.88%, Meanwhile Adidas AG lost 0.65% and Deutsche Bank AG ending 0.60% lower.
Moreover, the French stock market gained in Monday’s session as gains in Basic Materials, Energy & Utilities sectors led equities higher. French benchmark CAC40 closed 0.40% higher to settle at 5,165.64.
Today on the French benchmark gainers outweighed the losers with 31 gainers, 8 losers and 1 share remained unchanged.
The best performers on the CAC 40 were, ArcelorMittal SA that rose by 2.34%, followed by Valeo SA that gained 1.79% and TechnipFMC PLC ended the session 1.76% higher.
The worst performers on the CAC 40 are Sodexo SA who fell by 1.06%, while Publicis Groupe SA lost 0.72% and Societe Generale SA PLC edging lower by 0.49%.
