European market report (2017-07-20)

As the president of ECB Mario Draghi decided to leave the interest rate at the same level, European equities were mixed in today7’s session.
EUR appreciated against USD at 1.1655 as ECB’s President Mario Draghi reported that the interest rate would be unchanged and the policymaker will begin to discuss a gradual wind down of the QE program.
German and French’s equities were lower in Thursday’s session while FTSE benefits from the decline in GBP against the EUR.
Despite the quarterly earning announced by several European companies, as investors reacted on to the decision of ECB, and moving their investment toward EUR.
However, as Wartsila’s Earning came higher than expected, its stock was one of the best performers in Eurozone, where its share rose by more than 7% in early morning trade reaching the highest price ever. On the other hand, despite the growth of Moneysupermarket’s earnings, its share declined by 2.5% as the company reported that due to the current trend in energy trading, it could be at the lower of market consensus by the end of 2017.


FTSE100:


U.K’s equity closed the session up due to the gains generated by Fixed Line Telecommunication, Tobacco, and Oil & Gas Producers sectors, where FTSE 100 rose by 0.77% to settle at 7,487.87.
Rising shares outnumbered declining ones on FTSE100 by 83 to 17 and 1 ended unchanged.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE100 were Ashtead Group PLC, which rose 3.07% to trade at 1710.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Provident Financial added 3.06% to end at 2390.00, and Next PLC was up 2.80% to 3783.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EasyJet PLC, which fell 5.92%  to trade at 1334.00 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. declined 3.88% to end at 595.00, and Anglo American PLC was down 2.87% to 1100.50


DAX30:


Germany’s equities were lower today as the losses generated by Basic Recourses, Transportation & Logistic and Utilities pushed the shares lower.
Falling shares outnumbered advancing ones on DAX30 by 17 to 13 and 0 ended unchanged.
The best performers on the DAX 30 are, Siemens AG Class N, who rose by 1.29%, followed by Heidelbergcement AG O.N. who gained 0.82% % and Bayer AG NA rose by 0.66%.
The worst performers on the DAX 30 are Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. that fell by 8.56%, Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST lost 0.32% and E.ON SE NA ending 1.10% lower.


CAC40:


Moreover, the French stock market also was lower in Thursday’s session as losses incurred in Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials led equities downwards. French benchmark CAC40 closed 0.10% lower to settle at 5,199.22.
Today on the CAC40 the losers outweighed the gainers with 26 losers, 12 gainers, and 2 shares remained unchanged.
The best performers on the CAC 40 were, Publicis Groupe SA  that rose by 4.60%, followed by Essilor International SA that gained 0.70% and Capgemini SE  ended the session 0.66% higher.
The worst performers on the CAC 40 are ArcelorMittal SA who fell by 1.97%, while Airbus SE lost 1.80% and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA  falling by 1.77 %.
