European market report (2017-07-26)

As investors were waiting for Fed interest rate decision, European equities ended the session in the green, where FTSE, DAX, and CAC rose by 0.24%, 0.33%, and 0.56% respectively.

The sector of Oil & Gas was one of the best performers among others on the back of earnings news. As the earnings of London-based offshore contractor came higher than expected, Subsea 7 stock rose in today’s session. Also, the share of Tullow oil jumped 8.0% after they reported an increase in their revenues for the first half of 2017.

The stocks of Construction and Materials have been rose where the stock Kion Group in Germany rose sharply by 7.3% after strong results for the second quarter.

Despite the increase in Daimler net profit, Daimler stock declined by 0.75%. However, Peugeot’s stock jumped 3.1% after the news that their net profit rose 4.1% in the first half of the current year.

Meanwhile, the economic growth in U.K rose in the second quarter of this year, where the economy grew by 0.3% during the second quarter supported by the sector of Services and thriving film industry.

FTSE 100:

U.K’s equity closed the session up due to the gains generated by Fixed Line telecommunication, Forestry & Paper and electronic & Electrical Equipment, where FTSE 100 rose by 0.24% to settle at 7452.32.
Rising shares outnumbered declining ones on FTSE100 by 74 to 25 and 2 ended unchanged.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE100 were ITV PLC, which rose 2.45% to trade at 180.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Anglo American PLC added 2.01% to end at 1194.89, and Barratt Developments PLC was up 1.91% to 614.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paddy Power Betfair PLC, which fell 2.95% to trade at 7629.81 at the close. GlaxoSmithKline PLC declined 2.55% to end at 1545.36, and Sage Group PLC was down 1.21% to 677.52.


Germany’s equities were higher today as the gains generated by Basic Recourses, Food & Beverages and Technology sectors pushed the shares higher.
Rising shares outnumbered falling ones on DAX30 by 22 to 8 and 0 ended unchanged.
The best performers on the DAX 30 are, Commerzbank AG, who increased by 2.73%, followed by Volkswagen AG who gained 1.90% % and Infineon Technologies AG rose 1.63%.
The worst performers on the DAX 30 are Merck KGaA that fell by 3.53%. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGaA lost 0.77% and Daimler AG ending 0.75% lower.


Moreover, the French stock market also was higher in Tuesday’s session as gains incurred in Industrials, Financials, and Technology led equities upwards. French benchmark CAC40 closed 0.56% higher to settle at 5190.17.
Today on the CAC40 the gainers outweighed the losers with 33 gainers, 7 losers, and 0 shares remained unchanged.
The best performers on the CAC 40 were, Peugeot SA that rose by 3.18%, followed by Airbus SE that gained 2.78 % and Atos SE ended the session 2.75% higher.
The worst performers on the CAC 40 are ArcelorMittal SA who fell by 1.93%, while Lafargeholcim Ltd lost 1.23% and Sanofi SA falling by 1.16 %.
