Most of European Equities ended today’s session in the green territory as investors are waiting for monetary policy’s comments from the Jackson Hole Meeting.
The stocks of Construction and Materials were one of the biggest gainers in the region during today’s session where CRH’s share rose by 3.8% after the firm announced that its U.S business had been sold to Beacon Roofing for 2.63 million, the amount was paid in cash.
The best performer stock in Eurozone was Provident’s share as the stock rose added 13%, the stock was suffering from losses which generated earlier this week on the back of news that company’s chief executive Peter Crook has resigned.
On the other hand, Retail stocks ended today’s session in the red as the stock of Dixon Carphone was one of the worst performers in the area, where its stock tumbled by 23%, after the lowering in the firm’s full year net profit outlook.
In economic news, Mario Draghi did not give new indicators about the plans of the central bank’s monetary policy.
Uk’s equities ended today’s trading session in the green as FTSE100 rose by 0.33% to settle up at 7,407.06, supported by the gains in Basic Materials, Consumer Non-Cyclicals and Financial Sectors.
The session’s gainers outnumbered losers by 62 to 38, while only one share remained flat.
The best performers on FTSE100 were, Provident Financial PLC which rose by 13.16%, while CRH PLC’s share added 3.83%, and QPP PLC gained 2.96%.
The worst performers in today’s session on FTSE 100 were, EasyJet as its stock tumbled by 4.41%, meanwhile White Bread PLC fell by 2.61, and Marks & Spencer’s share dropped by 1.92%.
Germany’s equities were higher in today’s session as DAX 30 edged up by 0.05% at 12,180.63 helped by the gains in the Consumer Cyclicals, Utilities and Financials sectors.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 17 to 13, and 0 flat shares.
The best performers of the session on the DAX30 were Daimler AG NA O.N, which rose 1.45%. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. added 1.12%, and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG was up 0.86%.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N., which fell 0.80%. Prosiebensat 1 Media AG declined 0.79%, and SAP SE was down 0.78%.
French Equities ended today’s trading session in negative territory as CAC40 edged lower by 0.04% at 5113.30, pressured by the losses in Technology, Energy and Industrials sectors.
Today’s losers outnumbered gainers on CAC40 by 25 to 15, while o shares remained flat.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA, which rose 1.29%. Meanwhile, Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA added 0.95% and AXA SA was up 0.93%.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA which fell 2.06%. TechnipFMC PLC declined 1.61%, and Valeo SA was down 1.28%.
