MENA Market Report 18th of July 2019

MENA stock markets closed Thursday’s trading session in the red, as TASI, BAX, and QSI finished the session lower.

Bahraini shares fell on today’s session, where the main index BAX tumbled by 0.06 percent or 0.93 points to settle at 1,537.78 due to the losses in Consumer Cyclicals, Industrials, and Financials sectors.

Furthermore, Qatari equities ended today’s trading session in the red, as the primary benchmark QSI fell by 1.04 percent or 110.43 points to close the session at 10,503.10 due to the gains in Healthcare, Basic Materials, Industrials sectors.

Regarding oil news, Oil prices rose on Thursday trading session, as U.S. WTI crude futures were higher to trade at 56.83 USD per barrel around 16:30 GMT. Brent crude futures were also higher to trade at 63.65 USD per barrel around 16:30 GMT. 


Saudi Stocks Exchange:

Saudi stocks finished Thursday’s session lower, as the primary index TASI dropped by 0.46 percent or 41.72 points to settle at 9,033.83 due to the losses in Telecom Services, Consumer Non-Cyclicals, Financials sectors.

In stocks news, Jadwa REIT Al Haramain Fund and Etihad Etisalat Company SJSC were the worst performers in today’s session as they fell by 3.35 percent and 3 percent respectively to end the session in the red.


United Arab Emirates Stock Market:

United Arab Emirates' shares settled in today’s trading session in the green as both Abu Dhabi shares, and Dubai ended higher.

Abu Dhabi equities rose on today's trading session, where Abu Dhabi's leading benchmark ADI gained 2.70 percent or 137.40 points to end at 5,218.13 supported by the gains in all sectors except for Consumer Cyclicals that fell by more than 4 percent.

In stock news, Abu Dhabi Ship Building PJSC was today’s best performer, as the stock boosted by almost 15 percent to end the session higher. On the other hand, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company PSC was the worst performer today as the stock fell by 8.33 percent to settle in the red.

In Dubai, the main index DFM rose on today’s trading session, gaining 1.73 percent or 46.89 points to finish the session at 2,762.98 supported by the gains in Financials, Telecom Services, and Industrials sectors.

In stocks news, Dubai Financials Market PJSC was the best performer today as the stock rose by 5.26 percent to finish the session in the green. Meanwhile, Islamic Arab Insurance Co PJC fell today by 1.01 percent to settle in the red at the end of the session.


Egypt Stock Market:

Egypt's leading benchmark EGX30 rose by 0.21 percent on Thursday to settle at 13,670.27 due to the gains in Consumer Non-Cyclicals, Industrials, and Telecom Services sectors.

In stock news, Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Development SAE was the best performer, advancing by 6.83 percent, while GB Auto SAE was the worst performer for the third session in a row, dropping by almost 5 percent to finish the session in the red.
