Equity markets in the MENA region were mixed on Monday, due to the political tension among GCC states.
In Qatar, after the finance minister said that, despite the diplomatic crisis in the region, the economy is working normally, this led Qatar’s equity to rebounded from the sharp drop last week, where the index rose by 0.8% to close at 9135.16 on Monday.
Elsewhere Kuwait’s Main benchmark Boursa Kuwait 15 index rose 0.03 percent to trade at 900.45. Meanwhile in Oman, Muscat Se General Index ended the session lower by 0.32 percent to settle at 5,314.190 at the close.
• Saudi Arabia Stock Market
After the gains generated by the sectors of Multi investment, energy & Utilities and Retail, Saudi equities were higher on Monday, increased by 0.19% to close at 6822.43.
Today’s gainers outnumbered the losers by 8 shares, with 86 gainers, 78 losers and 12 unchanged.
The best performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share Index were, Al Jazira Mawten REIT surging by 5.26%, Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance Company adding 1.75 points Saudi Advanced Industries Co SJSC settling 3.71% higher at 11.74.
The worst performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share Index were Al Baha Investment and Development Company SJSC plummeting by 6.56%, MetLife AIG ANB for Cooperative Insurance dropping 0.70 points and Red Sea International Co ended 3.01% lower at 19.98.
• United Arab Emirates Stock Market
As the profits generated by Finance& Investment, Real State & construction and banking sectors, UAE’s equities closed higher on Monday.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange index and Dubai Financial Market General Index closed in the green, where DFM index added 1.16% to close at 3427.28, while ADX added 0.28% to close at 4511.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered the rising ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged; while on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 13 advanced and 10 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General Index were, Emaar Properties PJSC rising by 3.03%, Dubai Financial Market PJSC adding 0.03 points and Drake & Scull International PJSC settling 2.37% up at 0.432.
The worst performers of the session on the DFM General Index were, Dar Al Takaful PJSC falling by 0.92%, Islamic Arab Insurance Company PSC dropping 0.004 points and Amanat Holdings PJSC ended 0.88% lower at 1.130.
On the other hand, the best performers of the session on the Abu Dhabi Exchange General Index were, Al Khazna Insurance Company PSC surging by 13.89%, Union Cement Co PSC adding 0.09 points and Gulf Cement Co PSC settling up by 6.59% at 0.97.
The worst performers of the session on the Abu Dhabi Exchange General Index were, Fujairah Cement Industries Company PSC falling by 6.73%, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company PJSC dropping 0.08 points and Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries PSC ended 2.17% lower at 2.25.
• Egypt Stock Market
The Egyptian stock market index EGX30 declined by 0.91 percent to end at 13,491.9 on the pressure of Arab sales.
Today’s losers outnumbered the gainers by 95 to 52 with 25 share was left unchanged.
The best performer of the session on the EGX 30 were, Eastern Co SAE rising by 1.64%, Arabian Cement Co SAE adding 0.01 points and El Sewedy Electric Co SAE settling 0.07% higher at 88.20.
The worst performers of the session on the EGX 30 were, Porto Group Holding SAE shading 4.55%, Emaar Misr for Development SAE dropping 0.10 points and GB Auto SAE ended 3.21% lower at 2.11.
